The stories will take readers on a magical journey into the heart and soul of Africa and its peoples. Interesting, funny, heart warming, thoughtful and suitable for a wide age range, the stories will bring a global dimension to classrooms and communities and help to create positive attitudes and respect for diversity.

Matumba Matumba
"This is another catchy and danceable release from marimba-man Wedzerai Zvirevo and his British based Zimbabweans, whose happy harmonies propel many messages of new and old wisdom. The song writing is clearly of the highest level, with subtle emotional uplifts between verse and chorus. And it's not just marimba madness: two richly resonant tracks with mbiras and female vocals act as warm ballads to break up the set..."
"The music is trancey and uplifting with the rhythms of the kalimba and marimba beating at its heart" |
Cost: £12 plus £1.50 P&P |
Mudzimu Mudzimu
"Mudzimu Mudzimu translates from Shona as 'the greater spirits'. And whilst Zimbabwe is famous for bira, an all-night ceremony of drinking, dancing and music, Batanai Marimba are not singing about Scotch malt whiskey and Venezuelan rum. Instead, this nine-piece, UK-based Southern African roots band are calling down the ancestors, making the connection with the motherland, riding a vibe that is proud, joyous and life affirming. And wildly funky." |
